On July 8, 2009, Ireland's Dáil (Irish Parliament) passed their Defamation Bill. Amended in this bill was the criminalization of blasphemy. Cases of blasphemy can yield a €25,000 fine. This is not just for public displays of blasphemy. The Garda Siochana can apply for warrants to search any dwelling believed to be containing blasphemous material.
